The Adventure Continues

Family and Friends,

Greetings and welcome back to the adventure!

June 1st is an important date for our family for at least two key reasons...

REASON #1:  Cory's grandparents, Dean and Betty Grimm, whose lives and testimonies have been key to our mission work, were married on this date in 1950.  (see "The Story of Uncle Ivan Fowler" from July 22, 2011 in this blog: http://ouradventuresinhaiti.blogspot.com/search?q=ivan+fowler )

REASON #2:  Cory and Lynn were engaged on this date in 2002.

...All of that to say, this date will continue to be important in our lives because today we are officially re-launching our ministry to Haiti!  Please join us again on this adventure!  We do not know what God has in store, but we know it will exceed anything we could possibly imagine in both blessings and difficulties.  If you are not familiar with this blog, we challenge and invite you to go back and read all that has happened in the past few years.  It will inspire your faith!  Use the "Blog Archive" to the right to make that happen.

In the coming days and weeks we will share more about our new vision for ministry.  We will be launching a completely new mission organization with a unique approach to international missions, and we need your prayers and participation.  More on that later...

A few more details...

After a great school year in Sioux Center, the kids sadly said "goodbye" to their new friends as we will be relocating to the house we own in Sioux Falls, SD.  The plan for now is to homeschool the kids in order to insure flexibility for travel, etc...  On a happy note, we will finally be able to enjoy living with our racist watchdog, Cookie.  (see link about "Ku Klux Cookie" to get that joke:  http://ouradventuresinhaiti.blogspot.com/search?q=cookie )  She has had to live with Lynn's folks this last year, but the kids are excited to get her back.

Cory has completed his work with POET Ethanol in Ashton, Iowa.  His year+ with that organization has been a blessing and a challenge, and many new friends were made.  He will continue as Worship Pastor at American Reformed Church in Luverne, MN, and will also work part-time for Adam and Beth Grimm at The Lantern Coffeehouse in Sibley, Iowa, in order to help pay the bills.  He will help with the marketing of events (music, etc...) and roasted coffee.

A final word...

New friends and old alike... we invite you to join us in this adventure.  A simple way to begin is to simply read this blog on a regular basis and lift up the people described here in your prayers.  Will you do that?  A little warning and disclaimer, however...

If you join us in this adventure, be prepared to have your life turned upside down by God and by the amazing people of Haiti!  Buckle your seatbelts, friends and family!

May Your Adventure for God be Fresh and New Today!
